The Edmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations is committed to building the social justice muscle needed to transform the non-profit community. We therefore invite you to attend the first session in our ongoing speaker series intended to explore how alternative systems of knowledge might be used to reimagine how we structure and run our organizations.
In this lunch-time session, Senator Ratna Omidvar — a leader in diversity and equity — will discuss how she has been working to transform the non-profit sector through Bill S-222, the Effective and Accountable Charities Act, and other initiatives intended to increase the diversity of non-profit leaders across the country — and why it matters.
Senator Omidvar's talk will be followed by a Q&A session. Eager to connect with Senator Omidvar? Reach out to her on Twitter at @ratnaomi!
This is the first in a series of speakers discussing transformative leadership in the non-profit community. Stay tuned for more details about future speakers.
